It's Been a While for Posts...But They're Back Now!
Well…for many reasons, things have certainly slowed down on the site update front. But, hopefully, things will be getting back to normal and I’ll be able to post more regular content on the site and on the social media pages.
Here I am at the studios of St. Louis Public Radio in midtown St. Louis, Missouri, USA this morning. I’ll be filling in on Local Host duty for my very long time colleague, Mike Schrand, for the whole week of September 23, 2024. Mike’s the regular host for the station’s broadcast of NPR’s Morning Edition. So that means that I’ll be cracking the mic open at 4:59am so that all the folks in St. Louis, Quincy, Illinois, Rolla, Missouri, Belleville, Illinois and all points in between can either get ready for work with news and information OR drive home from for the same thing!
We just wrapped up the fall fund drive at the station last week. I did a few days of on-air pitching for funds last week. And to open the drive, I was actually running the board and hosting All Things Considered in the afternoon for the opening two days the week before last.
And the weekend before that on Saturday and Sunday, September 6-7, I was happy to do some outside program hosting for STLPR of the annual Theater Showcase for the 3rd year in a row. It took place, as usual, in the Public Media Commons over the course of two very pleasant evenings. Again, there were live performances by 12 different local theater companies.
Things will be pretty busy for me next week as well at the station too with the beginning of the broadcasts of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for the new 2024-2025 season. I’ll be back for the 3rd season as the announcer for the broadcasts and intermission interviewer of performers. More info on all of that coming up in another post.
I’m glad to be back with more regular posts, so feel free to share all the info and to ask questions where you can. Thanks!
